Frances Clarke Heffernan, age 81 of Roanoke, died Friday. She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Heffernan. Surviving is her daughter, Patricia Dudley, Cape Coral, Fla.; three sons, Robert Heffernan of Punta Gorda, Fla.; Michael C. Heffernan, John R. Heffernan, both of Roanoke; four grandchildren; one brother, Allen S. Clarke of Southern Pines, N.C.; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Clarke of Danville; a niece, Nancy Suttle of Bero Beach, Fla. Visitation in Roanoke will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's South Chapel. Services will be from First Presbyterian Church in Danville at 11:00 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Ron Oglesbee. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The remains will be moved to the church 9:00 a.m. Monday where the family will also receive callers until service time. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel.
