HAYMAKER, LEONARD W.

Leonard Wade Haymakeer, 56 of Route 1, Montvale, died Thursday, March 19, 1992, in Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley. He was born in Springwood, Virginia on November 8, 1935, a son of Gladys Hudson Haymaker of Lynchburg; and the late Warren Justin Haymaker. He was a maintenance engineer with Lewis-Gale Clinic, and was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Barbara Luck Haymaker; a son, Michael Blane Haymaker, Montvale; a daughter, Cynthia Lynne Haymaker, Roanoke; three brothers, Ted A. Haymaker, Hollins; Stanley Haymaker, Buchanan; Cleveland B. Haymaker, Roanoke; three sisters, Shelby H. Lawson, Savannah, Ga.; Rose H. Gibson, Covington; Joyce H. Waters, Goodview. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 22, 1992, at 2:30 p.m. at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Union Church Cemetery with military honors. The family suggests those wishing to make memorials consider the Montvale Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
