HOKIES' HOMERS DROP KENT

J.R. Hawkins and David Dallas each slugged a solo home run and Robby Douglas earned his fourth victory of the season as the Virginia Tech baseball team beat Kent 5-3 on Friday at English Field.

Les Jennette put the Hokies (15-2-1) on top with a two-out, two-run single in the first inning. Freshman Ron Preston relieved Douglas (4-0) and picked up his first save.

It was the first loss for the Golden Flashes (4-1). The teams meet again today at 2 p.m. Staff report
