EARNINGS . . .

Shoney's Inc., a Nashville, Tenn. operator and restaurant franchiser, has reported record revenues of $297.5 million for its first quarter ended Feb. 16, up 8 percent from $275.5 million a year ago. Net income was $8.9 million, or 21 cents a share, up 48 percent from $6.1 million, or 15 cents per share. Comparable-restaurant sales, a measure of units operating in both quarters, rose 1.4 percent.
