Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Thomas, Sr., of Salem are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Debra Anne, to Jeffrey Lee Hux, son of Mrs. Vera Turpen of Oakland Park, Florida, and Mr. Albert A. Hux of Roanoke Rapids, N. C. Miss Thomas graduated from Glenvar High School and James Madison University with a degree in early childhood and elementary education. She is employed by the City of Salem Schools. Mr. Hux graduated from Western High School, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and is currently pursuing a degree in political science at Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, N. C. He is employed by the United States Marine Corps and based at Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville. An August 15, 1992, wedding is planned.
