WITT ANNIVERSARY

Mr. and Mrs. J. Rucker Witt, Sr. celebrated their 50th anniversary on March 21, 1992 at Waverly Place Baptist Church. It was hosted by Walter & Carolyn Doran, Richard & Sharon Witt, James & Linda Witt and grandchildren. The couple were married March 21, 1942 in Hampton, Va. They are natives of the Roanoke Valley. She is the former Hazel Christine Willis. They have three children, James Witt of Vinton, Carolyn Doran of Roanoke, and Richard Witt of Vinton, also nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Witt is retired from Northwest Hardware. Mrs. Witt is also retired. Both teach Sunday school classes at Waverly Place Baptist and at Clear View Manor. The couple had a renewing of their vows at Waverly Place Baptist Church today at the 11:00 am service, conducted by Rev. Charles Hoffler.
