AKERS BIRTH

Alayna Rushbrooke Akers, weighing 5 lbs. 8 oz. and 18 inches long, was born at Lewis Gale Hospital on March 5, 1992, at 3:28 p.m. Her parents are Gary Rushbrooke and Misty Akers. Brothers and sisters are Jamie, 22, serving on the U.S.S. Inchon; Angela, 21, Martinsville; Jason, 15; Randy, 13; Krista, 11; and Sierra, 16 months. Paternal grandparents are Joseph and Alice Rushbrooke and maternal grandparents are Boyd and Marie Akers. Proud uncles are Christopher Rushbrooke and David Akers. Our special thanks to Dr. John Wilks for making our miracle possible and to Dr. Carl Harms for compassionately making it a safe and happy reality. We especially want to acknowledge the wonderful care and support given by Dr. Laura Moylan; our special nurse, Susan Johnston; and the rest of the great nurses in labor, delivery and maternity.
