PERRY, JOYCE B. DURHAM, N.C. - Mrs. Joyce Byrd Perry, age 69 formerly of
Roanoke, passed away at Durham Regional Hospital Thursday, March 19, 1992.
Survivers include one son and daughter-in-law, Charles N. Perry and Diane B.
Perry, Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna P. Leary and Oliver W.
Leary, Durham, N.C.; one brother and sister-in-law, Lieutenant Colonel Charles
Thornton Byrd (retired) and Lucille Byrd, Greensboro, N.C.; one sister and
brother-in-law, Margaret B. Sampson and Thomas N. Sampson, Clifton Forge;
three grandchildren, Charmaine and Carmen Leary, Durham, N.C.; Sharla Perry,
Atlanta, Ga.; four nieces, Barbara Jones, Loretta J. Pettis, Myrtle J. Sledd,
Cynthia B. Conley; three nephews, Charles T. Byrd, Jr., Thomas L. Sampson,
Michael A. Byrd; nine greatnieces and greatnephews; a host of cousins, other
relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at
First Baptist Church with Dr. K. B. Wright officiating with burial in Red Hill
Cemetery, Clifton Forge, Va. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00
to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The procession will form Monday at 1:15 p.m.
at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home. Hamlar-Curtis, morticians.
