FURMAN BLASTS VMI IN DOUBLEHEADER

Furman used 29 hits and eight VMI errors to rack up 28 runs and sweep a Southern Conference baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.

The Paladins took the first game 17-3, as Brian Mahon had three hits, including a home run and four RBI.

In game two, Furman (11-19, 4-4) scored five unearned runs in a seven-run fourth inning and bombed the Keydets 11-3. Mahon and Shane Spears had RBI doubles, and Rob Goecker added a two-run homer. Adam Murphy pitched the complete game win.
