BUCHANAN MAY EXPOSE THE GOP

OUR PRESIDENT is much like sagebrush, blown all over the prairie by the wind, out of self-control.

Thank goodness for Pat Buchanan. There is finally a Republican who exposes his party for all its blunders and stupidity.

The president is a rich man's pawn. He proved he had no compassion for the American people when he sent our troops to Kuwait, because he wouldn't cancel his vacation for it. Troops were either poor or middle-class, and those people are "bad words" to the Republican Party.

There is one bright side: For years and years, the Communist Party kept brainwashing the Soviet people, and a choice few kept telling them how well-off they were, while all the time they were living almost in slavery and owned very little.

Maybe Pat Buchanan can do for the Republican Party what Gorbachev did for the Communist Party, and expose it for what it really is. Give the government back to the people and care for everyone instead of a chosen few. CARL R. PADGETT SALEM
