Wallace, 72, entered University Hospital in Birmingham, Ala., last Monday for treatment of chronic Wallace pain associated with the paralysis he suffered when he was shot while running for president in 1972.

The Academy Awards ceremony is like bobbing for apples, said new dad Warren Beatty, one of the top nominees this year.
"I go for the enjoyment of seeing the people . . . that I've worked with and know. With the understanding that it's all slightly masochistic," he said in the March 28 TV Guide.
"It's sort of enjoyable in the way that bobbing for apples is enjoyable. But when you bob for apples you get wet and ruin the party. You can't take the game too seriously," Beatty said.
Beatty, who just had a baby with actress Annette Bening, turns 55 on March 30, the night ABC broadcasts the 64th annual Academy Awards. He'll be there.
Beatty's movie "Bugsy" is up for 10 nominations, more than any other film. He starred and was nominated for best actor.
In case anyone is awaiting word, Marla Maples said she and the Donald are "doing terrific."
Maples paid a visit on her small hometown of Dalton, Ga., Saturday night and had developer Donald Trump in tow at a fund-raiser for an Alzheimer's disease organization.
Asked whether they have set a marriage date, she groaned and laughed.
"Oh, I hate that question. I'm working at it. I've always wanted a fall wedding, but we missed it this year," Maples said.
Trump divorced his wife, Ivana, after his relationship with Maples began, but the two broke off their engagement last year, only to patch things up.
