LONG SHOP - Goldie Reed Smith, age 64, died Sunday in a Blacksburg hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Mary Reed. Surviving are her husband, Sherman E. Smith; two sons, David Smith, Lake Arrow Head, Calif.; Samuel Smith, Long Shop, Va.; one son and daughter-in-law, Sidney and Lisa Smith, Prices Fork; one sister, Mildred Kovach, Radford; four brothers, Eugene (Ted) Reed, Radford; Jimmy Reed, Dublin; Garnett (Mickey) Reed, Belspring; Donald (Mutt) Reed, Parrott; and special friends, Martha (Tiny) Boley and Betty Whittaker. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gordon Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Centennial Christian Church Cemetery, McCoy. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Long Shop-McCoy Rescue Squad.
