BLACKSBURG - Polly C. Williams, age 71, died Saturday, March 21, 1992, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mrs. Williams was born at College Station, Texas on March 18, 1921. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ethel Ramsey Carroll and J. H. Carroll of College Station, Texas. Surviving are her husband, George Robertson Williams, Sr.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Melinda Y. and John Carper, Omaha, Nebraska; Pamela W. and Daniel Carper, and Amanda D. Williams, all of Blacksburg; one son and daughter-in-law, George R., Jr. and Cheryl Williams, Omaha, Nebraska; one sister, Jessie Bartels, Jacksonville, texas; one brother, Robert James Carroll, College Station, Texas; six grandchildren, Jay, Scott, Daniel and Whitney Carper, Lynn Miles and Heather Williams; three great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Travis Miles, Ashley Carper. Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Blacksburg Baptist Church. Dr. Ray Allen will officiate. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blacksburg Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 550 N. Main St., Blacksburg, Va. 24060, or Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress St., N. E., Blacksburg, Va. 24060. The family will receive friends Monday at their home at 704 Palmer Dr. from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home.
