BUCHANAN - The Reverend H. Marvin Williams, born June 22, 1925, to the late James Arthur and Mary Elizabeth Williams of Sutton, West Virginia, died Sunday. He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Rowh Williams; three children, Marvin Chris Williams, Richmond; Jinni Lynn Williams, Elkins, W.Va.; Martha Ann Williams, Buchanan; three brothers; one sister; and many friends. Marvin was a B.A. graduate of Davis-Elkins College, Elkins, W.Va; and a graduate of Union Theological Seminary, Richmond, with a Master of Divinity Degree. He served at Slate Mountain, Buffalo Mountain and Mayberry Chapel Presbyterian Churches in Meadows of Dan prior to moving to Buchanan in 1966, where he served the Buchanan Presbyterian Church and the Virginia Presbyterian Church. In 1979, he focused his energy in a "tent-making" ministry, serving solely the Virginia Presbyterian Church. Marvin retired from active ministry in June 1990. He was an Eagle Scout, and served as Assistant Scout Master and Cub Master. He was also active as Elder and Clerk of Session of his home church in Sutton, W.Va. He was active in the Buchanan Lion's Club for many years, a member and past President of the Botetourt County Weekday Religious Education, and served on the Board of Directors for the Botetourt Association for Retarded Citizens. He was Vice Mayor of the Buchanan Town Council and a master cabinet maker and wood worker. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 24, 1992, at 2:00 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery, followed by a worship service in Buchanan Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robert McRae, the Rev. Ken Goodrich and the Rev. Julianne Hollingsworth officiating. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Botetourt County Weekday Religious Education or the Lynchburg Children's Home. Friends may call Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, Buchanan.
