NARROWS - Albert Walter Wheeler, age 82, of Narrows, died Saturday, March 21, 1992, in the Riverview Nursing Home at Rich Creek. A life long resident of Giles County, he was born April 15, 1909, and was the son of the late Charlie B. and Elizabeth Helen Shepherd Wheeler. He was a retired foreman for the Hoechst-Celanese Fibers Company Plant in Narrows. He was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Riffe Wheeler; a son, Billy Albert Wheeler; and two sisters, Nannie P. French and Vergie Ferrell. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Narrows and of the American Legion Post #68 of Narrows. Survivors include a brother, Charlie Wheeler, Princeton, W.Va.; two sisters, Margaret (Maggie W.) Stafford and Ilean W. McGhee, both of Narrows; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eugene and Osby Ball, Narrows; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Narrows, with the Rev. C. M. (Buddy) Woodson and the Rev. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Narrows, with graveside rites conducted by the Giles County American Legion Post and the VFW Post #6000 of Narrows. Friends may call at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.
