CHRISTIANSBURG - The homegoing of Charles Wesley `Chas' Ayers of Christiansburg took place Monday, March 23, 1992. Born March 27, 1935 to the late Anna Lee and Edgar Ayers of Pulaski, Chas served his country in the Korean conflict. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Wolfe Ayers; his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie A. and Kenneth Carter and their children, Chris, Matthew, Jonathan, and Kelly, all of Christiansburg; his son and daughter-in-law, Kirk D. and Dania P. Ayers and their son, Wesley, of Christiansburg; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark S. and Faith G. Harris and their sons, Jared and Jordy, of Pulaski. The family will receive friends at Christian Growth Center Church, 1850 Electric Way, Christiansburg 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25 at Christian Growth Center where Chas was an active member of the church and on the advisory council. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christian Growth Center to be used in the building fund and the Growing Tree Child Care Center. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Richardson-Horne in Christiansburg.
