CARROLL BOARD TO OPERATE FARMERS MARKET

The $1.1 million 30,000-square-foot facility is scheduled for completion in June on a site donated by the county. It will be a wholesale distribution center for regional agriculture products.

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the Farmers Market Board chose the operator. The county will be responsible for finances, personnel and day-to-day management, probably through a market manager who is not yet hired.
