VIDEO POKER GAMES TO DEAL FOR ORE. LOTTERY

The Oregon Lottery on Monday warmed up the first of its planned 3,300 electronic video poker terminals in bars and taverns, a move opponents say will foster excessive gambling.

The state Lottery Commission planned to deal its first hands of electronic video poker at six test locations Monday. Statewide start-up of the games was scheduled today.

Video poker is expected to more than double the lottery's existing business, bringing in an estimated $70 million windfall for the state in the first year. - Associated Press
