OBIT - ALLEN, M.

ALLEN, MITTIE T. - Mittie Turman Allen, age 91, of Newbern, died Tuesday, March 24, 1992, in Wheatland Nursing Center, Radford. Born in Floyd Co., November 11, 1900, she was the daughter of the late Tilden Turman and Martha Phillips Turman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Samuel Allen; two sons, Joseph Theron Allen and Donald David Allen. She is survived by one son, Samuel Gene Allen, Newbern; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Farmer, Pulaski; one brother, Ernest Turman, Snowville; one sister, Mrs. Howard (Velma) King, Newbern; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. from Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Newbern Cemetery. Visiting will be Wednesday after 1:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home, Pulaski.
