COBURN, VIRGINIA J. - Virginia Kathleen Johnson Coburn, age 83, of Narrows,
Virginia died Tuesday morning at the home of her niece, Sarah Kagaels of
Salem, Va. She was born on January 4, 1909 in Narrows, Va., the daughter of
the late Samuel Austin and Sarah Virginia Shumate Johnson. She was preceded in
death by her husband, William Sprigman Coburn, Jr. Surviving are two brothers,
Samuel A. Johnson, Jr., Narrows; James Rufus Johnson, Trinity, Texas; two
sisters, Mary J. Ballard and Helen J. Saphir, both of Narrows; two nieces,
Sarah Kagaels, Salem, Va. and Katrina Clyburn, Roanoke, Va.; five nephews,
Randy Ballard, Chapel Hill, N.C.; Ronnie Johnson, Princeton, W.Va.; Raymond
Johnson, Charleston, S.C.; Randall Johnson, Hampton, Va.; Michael Johnson,
Bethel, Alaska. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at
the Riffe's Funeral Chapel in Narrows with the Rev. Jack E. Musick
officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. Friends
may call at the funeral home Wednesday Evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
