The meeting will start at noon in Christiansburg High School's commons.
Any county resident who will support Democratic candidates and is registered to vote in the county may attend the mass meeting, but those attending must be there before the doors close at noon.
Participants will be asked to sign a statement of support for a presidential candidate or declare that they are uncommitted. They will then caucus with others of the same preference.
Delegates to the two conventions will be selected in proportion to the number of people at the meeting supporting each preference. Thirty-six delegates and 18 alternates will be picked to attend the two conventions.
To be eligible to be elected a delegate or alternate a person must file a form by 5 p.m. April 6 with Lindsay West, chairman of the Montgomery County Democratic Party.
Delegate forms may be obtained from West or Phillip Keith at the commonwealth's attorney's office in Christiansburg and returned to them.
The delegate forms must be accompanied by a $20 filing fee, which will be shared with the state, district and county Democratic committees.
The 9th District Democratic Convention will be held May 23 at 11 a.m. at Marion High School. The state convention will be held June 5-6 in Roanoke
