The Roanoke Valley Youth Soccer Club is accepting applications for a $1,000 college scholarship to be awarded to a high school senior who has played on a club-sponsored team.
Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of academic achievement, citizenship and character and soccer contributions. The deadline for receipt of applications is April 15. For more information, call Danny Beamer at 366-1803.
\ Super Cities Walk to benefit MS Society
The Blue Ridge chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will sponsor a Super Cities Walk April 4 at 10 a.m., starting at Patrick Henry High School.
The 15-kilometer walk through residential areas and downtown Roanoke will be used to raise funds to help the approximately 1,000 people with multiple sclerosis served by the chapter.
Walkers will receive snacks and lunch and will vie for prizes according to the amount of money they raise.

\ Softball teams sought for Crawford tourney
Entries for the Miller Lite 12th Annual Chance Crawford Benefit Slowpitch Softball Tournament are being accepted at the Salem Parks and Recreation Department through April 17.
The men's and women's tournaments will take place May 1-3 in Salem.
Entry fees are $95 for teams sanctioned by the U.S. Slowpitch Softball Association and $115 for non-sanctioned teams.
There will be several classes in each tournament. Registration is limited to 200 teams. For more information, call 375-3057.
