LEXINGTON - Catherine Parrent Paxton, age 85, widow of E. W. Paxton, Sr., died Thursday, March 26, 1992, in Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Lexington. She was born in Rockbridge County, July 5, 1906, and was the daughter of the late Joseph Samuel and Ada Powell Parrent. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Stonewall Jackson Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are one daughter, Catherine P. Fischer, Chester; two sons, Eugene W. Paxton, Jr., Joseph E. Paxton, both of Lexington; three sisters, Rubye P. Lindsay, Mary P. Catlett, both of Lexington; Lovie P. Walker, Williamsburg; one brother, Jack W. Parrent, Newport News; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from the Harrison Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. James B. Grimmer and Dr. Thomas G. Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Harrison Funeral Home.
