Hattie M. Murray, age 97 formerly of the Wasena area, died Friday at South Roanoke Nursing Home. She was the widow of Harry E. Murray, Sr. Mrs. Murray was a charter member of Central Church of the Brethren and was a loving mother and a friend to many. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Harry E., Jr. and Virginia W. Murray, Roanoke; daughter, Jeanne E. Ayers, Roanoke; granddaughter, Catherine Lambright, Morgantown, W.Va.; grandson, Kevin Ayers, Calif.; sisters, Agnes B. Woods, Roanoke; Grace B. Stover, Salem. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Central Church of the Brethren, 416 Church Ave., Roanoke, VA 24016. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Evergreen Burial Park with the Rev. David A. Yingling officiating. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke.
