APPOMATTOX PAIR WINS LOTTO JACKPOT

An Appomattox County couple who played the same number combination since Virginia's Lotto games began in 1990 has won a $1.1 million prize, lottery officials said Friday.

Raleigh K. Worley, 51, and his 48-year-old wife, Diana May, picked up their first payment, worth $44,197 after taxes, at lottery headquarters. Their winning ticket matched all six numbers in Wednesday night's drawing.

The Worleys said their granddaughter helped pick the winning combination of 1-4-6-21-23-29. - Associated Press
