JORDAN-COOPER

Miss Samantha Julia Cooper was married Saturday, March 28, to Mr. Harry Jordan, at the Rocky Mount Baptist Church. The marriage was performed by the Rev. Joe Bryant.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Cooper of Rocky Mount.

The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Jack Jordan and the late Jack Jordan of Fayetteville, W.Va.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Wedding music was performed on the piano and organ by Mrs. Winnie Mitchell.

The bride wore her mother's wedding dress, a floor length, ivory embroidered organdy, featuring cap sleeves, a basque waistline, a skirt with three tiers and a chapel length train. The headpiece was a lace crown with pearls and a finger tip veil. She wore gauntlets of matching organdy and carried an arm bouquet of bridal white roses, pink bouvardia and white buttons. The bridesmaids carried arm bouquets of pink bouvardia and white buttons.

Catherine Woolson of Longmeadow, Mass., served as her sister's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Nancy Schenck, of Wake Forest, N.C., sister of the groom; Inglath Cooper of Roanoke, sister-in-law of the bride; Jill Prillaman of Wirtz; and Michele Johnson of Raleigh, N.C. They wore teal green taffeta street length dress suits with matching shoes.

Best man was Ed George of New Martinsville, West Virginia. Ushers were Peter Schenck of Wake Forest, N.C., brother-in-law of the groom; Mac Cooper of Roanoke, brother of the bride; Taz Cooper of Rocky Mount, brother of the bride; and Ray Woolson of Longmeadow, Mass., brother-in-law of the bride.

A reception was held following the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents.

The bride is a graduate of Franklin County High School and Longwood College. She is a school teacher at the Rocky Mount Elementary School.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Fayetteville High School, and West Va. Tech. He is employed at GE of Salem, as Leader-Master Scheduling for GE Drive Systems.

Following a wedding trip to Martinique, the couple will reside in Roanoke.

The couple was honored on several occasions prior to their wedding.

A bachelor party was given in Roanoke by Dan O'Hara, Carmen Romeo, and Ed George.

In Roanoke, a stock the bar party was given by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cooper, Jr., Miss Michele Johnson, and Mrs. Marvin Bright.

In Rocky Mt., a cocktail party was given by Dr. and Mrs. C.B. Nolen, Jr.

A shower and brunch were given in Ferrum by Mrs. James Henderson, Mrs. Joseph Prillaman, and Mrs. James Robertson.

Mrs. William L. Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Cooper, III, and Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Cooper gave a dinner party for the couple in Rocky Mount.

A bridesmaid brunch, on the day of the wedding was given by Mrs. Raymond Woolson, III, sister of the bride, at Charlie's Restaurant in Roanoke.

The groom's mother, Mrs. Jack Jordan, honored the couple with a rehearsal dinner at LaMaison in Roanoke.
