SHUMATE-HAYES

Melinda Hayes and George Gray Shumate were married December 2, 1991. The officiating clergyman was Clinton Spinney. The reception was held at VFW, Whitman, Mass., January 25, 1992. The maid of honor was Patricia Curtis, the bride's mother. Flowergirl was Kristina Curtis, sister of the bride. The best man was Bo Harris. The bride is the daughter of Eugene Hayes and Patricia Curtis, both of Whitman, Mass. The groom, son of George Shumate and Nancy Shumate, both of Roanoke, is a graduate of Cave Sping High School, and served in the U.S. Marine Corp for 6 years. He is employed by Airborne Express, Wilmington, Ohio. The newlywed are living in Dayton, Ohio.
