HENRY WOMAN DIES AFTER PICKUP CRASH

A 34-year-old Henry County woman died Sunday after her truck ran off the road and went over an embankment, state police said.

Margaret Lavelle Cassady of Bassett was driving a 1980 pickup truck southbound on Virginia 698 in Henry County when the 2 a.m. accident occurred, police said. No other vehicles were involved.

Cassady died about 2 1/2 hours later at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County, police said. There was no information on whether Cassady was wearing a seat belt.
