GENERALS FALL 11-6 TO HAMPDEN-SYDNEY

Will Hicks' solo home run in the first inning started Hampden-Sydney on its way to an 11-6 college baseball victory over Washington and Lee on Monday.

The Tigers, aided by three W&L errors, broke open the game with five runs in the top of the fourth inning for a 6-0 lead. Hicks went 3-for-4 with two doubles and the homer, and Taylor Rhodes wen 4-for-5 with two doubles for the Tigers (7-6 overall, 2-2 ODAC).

Center fielder Brian Harper went 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI to lead the Generals (3-10, 1-5). W&L starter T.J. Daley gave up three earned runs and struck out eight. - Staff report
