NEW RIVER TRAIL CLEANUP, TREE-PLANTING SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY

The Friends of the New River Trail (North) will sponsor a cleanup and tree-planting Saturday to celebrate Earth Day.

Volunteers will meet at the Draper access area on Virginia 658 at 9 a.m. Lunch and drinks will be provided. Volunteers should bring their own gloves.

The rain date for the cleanup is April 11.

The trail group also will hold a meeting Thursday night at 7 at the Shot Tower in Austinville.
