HONAKER TO HOLD REDBUD FESTIVAL

The 11th annual Honaker Redbud Festival will get under way Friday with WCYB-TV of Bristol broadcasting its "Live at 5:30" program to this Russell County community.

The Little Miss Redbud Festival Pageant will be Saturday at 1 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. basketball game among Honaker High School graduates. The festival's homecoming dinner will be Sunday at 1 p.m.

The following weekend will include a 5-kilometer race and gospel sing. Festivities on April 18 will include a canoe race and various festival pageants. The April 25 activities include an arts and crafts show, car show and 4 p.m. festival parade.
