ETC. FERRUM NOTCHES 8-7 BASEBALL VICTORY

Doug Cash delivered a bases-loaded single in the 10th inning to give Ferrum College an 8-7 baseball victory over St. Bonaventure in Jacksonville, Fla. Keith Mayhew pitched the entire game for the Panthers (1-1), giving up 13 hits, striking out four and walking nine.

Virginia Tech's baseball season opener against Virginia Commonwealth, scheduled for today, has been postponed for the second time because of snow. The Hokies will try to open the season Wednesday when they travel to Norfolk for a game against Old Dominion.
