BLAZE DAMAGES RIDGEWAY PLANT
A fire about 5 p.m. Sunday destroyed about a third of a Styrofoam-manufacturing plant in Ridgeway.Authorities first thought that an explosion may have triggered the blaze that damaged Tri-State Foam Products, but Monday they could find no evidence that that was the case, Henry County Fire Marshal Steve Eanes said.
The structure's roof collapsed during the blaze, and Eanes said that the remains of it would have to be removed before investigators could search for a cause. A crane was to begin removing it today.
One firefighter and one rescue squad member were treated for smoke inhalation, Eanes said.
