ROANOKE IS LOSING A FRIEND
AS A FORMER employee of Eastern Airlines at the Roanoke Regional Airport, I wanted to comment on the Jan. 29 article in the Roanoke Times & World-News' concerning Bob Brammer, who is leaving our local airport and community for a better opportunity in Richmond.Brammer has been a great friend to and advocate of Roanoke's aviation community. Those of us in the airline industry could always depend on him for the appropriate actions and answers when they were needed. Unfortunately, in addition to the loss of professional talent, Roanoke has lost a friend.
He spent many hours working for the community through the various civic organizations to which he was dedicated. He has raised funds for the support of our crippled children, children with muscular dystrophy, the hearing impaired, the elderly and many, many others with needs.
Brammer will be missed, not only by the airport employees, but by those he touched while he was a part of our community. GINA D. EMERT VINTON
