TECH WINS LACROSSE MATCH IN DOUBLE OVERTIME
Virginia Tech rallied and pulled out a 12-11, double-overtime men's lacrosse victory over Holy Cross at Blacksburg.The Hokies, who trailed 7-4 at halftime, overcame a 10-6 fourth-quarter deficit to lead 11-10, then Holy Cross tied the score in the final two minutes to force overtime.
Alex Adler had four goals and one assist, Adam Randall had three goals and an assist, and Rob Rosequist had one goal and four assists for Tech. Jason Green had 15 saves for Tech. The Hokies play at Georgia Tech on Sunday, then return home for a game against East Carolina on March 20.
\ VMI's Mike Peters had two goals, the second breaking a tie with 40 seconds left as the Keydets beat Greensboro College 10-9 in a lacrosse match at Lexington.
\ Martinsville Speedway will hold an open practice session from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, not Sunday as originally announced, for NASCAR's Late Model Stock cars. The Miller Genuine Draft 500 will be held March 21, and the LMSC drivers have a 200-lap event that weekend.
