TEXTILES CURATOR HIRED AT TAZEWELL MUSEUM

Kathleen Wilson Harman of Abingdon has been hired as curator of textiles at Historic Crab Orchard Museum.

She will locate and identify antique woven coverlets from the Blue Ridge Highlands region of Southwest Virginia. The George J. and Effie L. Seay Foundation of Richmond is providing a $5,000 grant for the program, and additional grants are being sought.

Harman has already been working on the project as a volunteer. It has been the subject of articles in Early American Life and other magazines.
