OBIT MARTIN, LAMER C.

MARTIN, Lamer C., 87, of Roanoke County, died Monday, March 1, 1993. He was a retired carpenter and farmer and was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Austin Martin; his son-in-law, Forest Turman; his grandson, Barry Martin; his great-grandson, Jesse Martin. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence (Ned) and Phyllis Martin, Bobby and Judy Martin, Joe and Sandra Martin, all of Roanoke County; two daughters and son-in-law, Norma Jean and Willie Green, Joyce M. Turman, all of Roanoke County; two sisters, Edith Filson, Roanoke, Pearl Wertz, Troutville; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel Thursday, March 4, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William M. Dixon and Mr. Roy Ferguson officiating. Interment in Martin Cemetery, Roanoke County. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel.
