OBIT WHITMIRE, HAZEL CANDLER
WHITMIRE, Hazel Candler, 87, of Roanoke, died Monday, March 1, 1993. She
was a member of Oakland Baptist Church, was the widow of Wilmer H. Whitmire.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, W. H. (Bill) Whitmire Jr.
and wife, Sarah Thomas Whitmire of Roanoke, Charles H. Whitmire of Roanoke;
three grandchildren, Ann W. Thomas of Sutherlin, Va., W. Howard Whitmire III,
of Lynchburg, Thomas S. Whitmire of San Francisco, Calif.; two
great-grandchildren; one brother, Orville George Candler Jr., of Roanoke.
Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 11:30 a.m.
Thursday, March 4, with the Rev. Kelly Dampeer Officiating. Burial will be in
Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel where the
family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
