PAT ROBERTSON'S MTM TO IDLE CEO, 15 OTHERS

MTM Entertainment, the money-losing production company purchased in January by the religious television interests controlled by Pat Robertson of Virginia Beach, Va., will lay off its chief executive and at least 15 of 75 employees.

Control of MTM will largely be assumed by its new parent, Virginia Beach-based International Family Entertainment Inc. Tim Robertson, Pat Robertson's son and the chief executive of IFE, said the restructuring will save $2 million a year.

MTM produces "Evening Shade" and "The New WKRP in Cincinnati" and distributes "Rescue 911" and the children's variety show "Xuxa."

Those departing include CEO Robert Klosterman and Ed Bowen, MTM's chief financial officer. The company said the reorganization will take about two months. - Associated Press
