MONTGOMERY 4-H TO CAMP JULY 26-30
Montgomery County 4-H members will camp at the Smith Mountain Lake Educational Center July 26-30.Activities will include swimming, canoeing, riding, drama, archery, arts, science, basketball, cheerleading, orienteering and music.
Camp objectives are to offer recreational and educational experiences in the outdoors, to foster cooperation and responsibility among youths 9-13 and to provide fellowship.
To find out more about the camp or other 4-H activities, call the Montgomery County Extension Office at 382-5790. Deadline for registration is July 1.
Last year, there were 1,450 4-H members and 171 volunteers in Montgomery County. Programs are divided by age: non-competitive 4-H Cloverbud programs for ages 5-8 and competitive 4-H for ages 9-18.
