OBIT WOODLIFF, ESTELLE HOLLEMAN
WOODLIFF, Estelle Holleman, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 1993
in a local hospital. She was born in Petersburg, Va. to the late McKinley and
Sadie R. Holleman. She was a graduate of Virginia State University and
received her masters degree from Columbia University in New York. She began
her teaching career at Elizabeth City Teacher's College and continued at North
Carolina A & T. She later moved to Roanoke, where she taught at Lucy Addison
High School. She retired from Patrick Henry High School and was an active
member of Loudon Avenue Christian Church. Mrs. Woodliff was also a member of
Lynx, Moles, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the Shamrock Bridge Club. Her
survivors are her husband, James S. Woodliff, Roanoke; her mother, Sadie R.
Holleman, Petersburg; a daughter, Melissa Woodliff Anthony, son-in-law,
Michael Anthony, both of Atlanta, Ga., and a host of cousins and other
relatives. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Loudon Avenue
Christian Church with Rev. William Lee officiating. Burial will be in Williams
Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at
the funeral home. Hamlar-Curtis, Morticians.
