OBIT SASSER, DENVER CARLYLE

SASSER, Denver Carlyle, 83, of Route 1, Moneta, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 1993 in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He was born October 2, 1909, in Wayne County, N.C., a son of the late Isaac Sasser and Mae Fields Sasser. He was a retired carpenter, a member of the Staunton Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the Washington Area Carpenters Union Local #132. He is survived by his wife, Bessie Silvers Sasser; one son, Gerald C. Sasser, Sterling, Va.; a niece and her husband, Sarah and Harry Raykes, Birmingham, Ala.; one grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 5, 1993 at 2 p.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, by Dr. Frank Schmitt. Viewing and visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.
