CONVICTS DON'T DESERVE LUXURIES

ENOUGH IS enough! Where do these convicted criminals, who are where they are by their own choices, get off suing the Department of Corrections because they "can't hear the television or talk on the phone"?

Since they are being punished for criminal acts, why are we, against whom these acts were committed, paying for these luxuries? Take away the televisions and the telephones and put the convicts to work mopping floors, cleaning windows, whatever. Then they won't have time for such nonsense.

I sincerely hope that courts dismiss these garbage suits and use their time taking care of the huge backlog of legitimate claims. GLENNA RICHARDSON SALEM
