SKATER BOWMAN VICTIM OF BEATING AT HOTEL
Figure skater Christopher Bowman, who won a national championship last year and finished fourth at the Olympics, was beaten during a fight at the Ellis Hotel in the Hill District, a crime-ridden Pittsburgh neighborhood, about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to a police report. The skater called for help after returning to his room at the Hyatt Hotel. Bowman was treated Tuesday for injuries to the ribs and head, said Pittsburgh police, who said an ambulance transported Bowman to Mercy Hospital. Bowman was missing his wallet and jacket, although police said they were not sure if he was robbed or the items were lost.
