COLLEGE ARTS, CRAFTS FAIR TO BE JUST FOR STUDENTS

The annual spring Wytheville Community College Arts and Crafts Fair will eliminate its adult competition category and from now on limit exhibits to students from elementary to high school.

It will be renamed the Wytheville Community College School Arts Fair and is scheduled for April 30 on campus this year.

The concept was changed to meet changing community needs, said College President William F. Snyder.

The community need for a comprehensive festival is being met by the annual arts festival at Hungry Mother State Park in Marion and the annual Wytheville Chautauqua Festival, he said.

The new School Arts Fair remains the only opportunity for an arts competition among area elementary, middle and high schools, he said.

As in the past, instructional workshops will be set up for high school students. Exhibits will include painting, drawing, sculpture and other student art.

Further information is available from Dan Jones or David Johnson at the college, telephone 228-5541 locally or toll-free (800) 468-1195.
