REED ANNIVERSARY

Mr. and Mrs. Alvis E. Reed celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 28 with a reception at the Community Room of the Bank of Floyd. They were married in Floyd County on February 26, 1943. The Reeds are lifelong residents of Floyd County. Mrs. Reed is the former Reva DeHart.

The celebration was hosted by their two children, Roger Reed, Roanoke, Patricia Davis, son-in-law Frank Davis, Blacksburg. Their grandchildren are Neil Reed, Eric Reed, Lisa and husband Steve Smith, Michael Altizer, and Rachel Davis.

Mr. Reed retired from S. Lewis Lionberger Construction Company. Mrs. Reed is retired from the Floyd Garment Company. They are longtime members of Laurel Branch Church of the Brethren.
