The Seahawks (17-10) face seventh-seeded East Carolina next. Third-seeded Richmond (15-12) had gotten past the first round of the league tournament nine times in 10 years and has won a record four CAA titles.
But the Spiders couldn't find the range or hang onto the ball this time against a team they had defeated nine times in their past 12 meetings. \
