J.R. Hawkins belted two home runs to lead Virginia Tech to a 14-2 romp over East Carolina in college baseball Saturday in Blacksburg.Brian Fitzgerald, who pitched six innings for the Hokies (3-0), surrendering only one earned run. Tech third baseball Bo Durkac had a two-run homer and three hits, and shortstop Dee Dalton cracked a two-run homer.
Center fielder Alex Vaxmonsky hit a home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Radford to a 5-4 victory over Bucknell and a sweep of a doubleheader. The Highlanders won the first game 11-6.
