MOORE'S FOUNDER PAUL UMBARGER DIES

Paul Umbarger, a founder and former president of Moore's Building Supplies, died Sunday in a Roanoke hospital. He was 77.

In recent years, Umbarger had been an active cattle breeder and farmer in Roanoke and Botetourt counties.

In World War II, he served as an Army intelligence officer on the staff of Gen. George C. Marshall.

He is survived by his wife, Zofia Umbarger of Roanoke, and two daughters, Amy Zavrel and Heidi Perez, both of Alexandria.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church today. Burial will be at Georgetown Presbyterian Church in Washington. Arrangements are being handled by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
