OBIT PAINTER, BRUCE WADE SR.

PAINTER, Bruce Wade Sr., 85, of Buchanan, died Monday, March 8, 1993. He was predeceased by his wife, Elsie Ferguson Painter, and six grandchildren. Mr. Painter retired from Burlington Industries, Glasgow. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Clara P. and Danny Joyce, Fincastle; four sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce W. Painter Jr., Fincastle, Raymond L. and Coreen Painter, Troutville, Jimmy W. and Gladys Painter, Roanoke, Wayne L. and Pat Painter, Buchanan; brother, Wilbert Painter, Waynesboro; sister, Grace Layne, Glasgow; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; special friend, Florence Horne, Glasgow. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 1993 in Buchanan Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, Buchanan.
